Sad because I know the weekend will go to quick.
Happy that Brett is home today. a weekend off for him and a sleep in!
Sad that he doesnt get to spend many weekends at home
Happy because we are planning something as a fmaily to do today!
Sad because it means not a lot of craft time but I would put family time over craft time any day
happy the sun is out so lots of bike riding will be had
Sad means no rain so I need to water my plants.
Happy that I am a wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend
Sad that there are so many out there who cant be a mother.
Happy that I have a new day to do better at being 'who' I am.
Sad that I keep trying to be someone I am not.
Happy that I have a scrap page to share with you all next week
Happy that I create pages that I love even if its not recognized by 'big' name people
Sad that I feel I need to be 'reconginsed' for my scrapping
Happy with my growth as a scrapper.
sad that I would even consider myself to be 'good enough' for a manufacture
Happy that I am going to make a coffee and re-focus on why I scrap and that being recongnised is not the bee all and end to craft.
Sad that I even thought about wanting to be recongnised .
Happy that the kettle is boiled - coffee time
Sad that I have no chai latte left!
yep, those Happy things out weigh the sad things!
Time to dwell on the 'happiness' and change my {at-ti-tude}
Enjoy your weekend - keep smiling, cause I will be! :)
Felicity, you need to stop being so hard on yourself! You have achieved so much and good on you for putting in an application. Just because you didn't make the team, doesn't mean you are not good enough - just not what they are looking for at the moment. Enjoy your family time and keep scrapping for you and your family. You are such an amazing person and no-one can take that away from you. Take care xx
ReplyDeleteAwwww Flis. I understand where you are coming from though. It's hard not to take rejection to heart in our industry. Just remember that it's only paper and glue, there are much more important things in life than that. I know how hard it is when you put yourself out there and work yourself up thinking that just maybe you are a chance, then the rejection sets in and you start doubting yourself. Don't do it babe. You have hundreds of people that love and admire your work, but also you as a person xx
ReplyDeleteWhat these two lovely ladies said is so true.
ReplyDeleteGood on you for having a go, don't take the rejection to heart - we all have had rejection after rejection....it's not hard to get discouraged, but take heart from the delight your boys have in you work - that's what I do...
You have such a fabulous blog, and I am soooo going to try that Ginger Sponge and the Satay sauce, btw...
Hey Felicity. I totally understand how you are feeling about the scrapping. I missed out this week too. It is so disappointing and makes you feel like you are not good enough. I just want you to know that you most definately are!!! Your work is amazing and inspires. Every one of your layouts is beautiful and I for one love your work. Companies that stick to the 'big names' just don't know what they are missing out on. :-)
ReplyDeleteDitto to what everyone else has said. I know it's hard at times to not "make the cut", but at least you had a go, Flis...unfortunately, just not what they're looking for atm. The way I see it....it's their loss. Your work is always inspiring & gorgeous. Keep up the great work & maybe just try scrapping for "YOU" :-) . Enjoy your weekend! xx
ReplyDeleteOh Flis, I hope the 'happy' overtakes the 'sad' - you are an awesome person and an awesome scrapper and you have many wonderful fans who come to see your work - do what you love and keep on going - stay strong. xx
ReplyDeleteFlis this is a gorgeous post.
ReplyDeleteHave you ever considered writing too?
You are fantastic at it and on the scrapping note, I think your work is awesome.
And for what it is worth, you are certainly an inspiration to me and many others.
And I think you need to use this post for some journaling in a page. It was just beautiful to read, maybe because we all feel the same things too.
You are certainly not alone.
This is so touching! Your creations are beautiful! Can you just imagine how many people applied? It doesn't mean you're not good enough...it just means that they picked out some lo's that had something that they were looking for you gorgeous creator you! Keep creating and don't look back...you inspire so many people with your bubbly self and your amazing art!
ReplyDeleteremember what we discussed babes? We are not slaves to the A typical styles of scrapping nor to a manufacturer, just enjoy the process and the fun of creating and documenting our lives because thats really what it is all about! Love ya xoxox
ReplyDeleteahhh, my gorgeous friend :) guess what, you rock, your style is too fantastic for a manufacturer :D you're the way I was at the start of the year, use 'other' stuff to make your pages look AWESOME. I was never a product whore, little of this little of that. And you know the sad thing I busted my butt to want to get onto a Manu DT. Never ever happened, but when EVERYONE else around you is getting on there it starts to make you feel like you're just not good enough, and unfortunately because of that it made me not love it anymore......

Awww honey, don't be so hard on yourself! Your work is truly amazing! I think we lose sight of why we started this hobby in the first place. When your boys look back on your pages in years to come, they will see the love and dedication you have put into it and that is all that matters. xx
ReplyDeleteits so interesting to read what you wrote flis, because you dont feel you are being recognised but from my point of view you are recognised and someone like me isnt. so i guess the point is that not matter who you are there will always be someone out there who you think does better than you do at something. xox
ReplyDeleteKeep on scrapping Flis, i love this style you have at the moment,so inspiring.. you have no idea how many ppl love your work as is.
ReplyDeletePlease dont give up hun, as i am sure one day soon someone will recognse that undeniable talent you have.
If anything, acceptance makes people complacent, its life rejections that keep you pushing the envelope and the fire inside you burning..
Thanks for your 'happy vs sad' list Felicity. You are just saying what most of us feel anyway. We all have our insecurities and feel the need to impress, but you are just wonderful the way you are and your scrapping is amazing. :)
ReplyDeleteHope you have a lovely week. xx
marelize is right! you are just saying what we think! good on you!
ReplyDeletebut the others are right too...and i'm sure you know what i'm thinking LOL!!!
hope you enjoyed your weekend!
I can relate to so much of what you have said here. However you are much braver than I, I prefer to keep my failures and rejections to myself. I have learnt to let them brush over me rather than getting me down these days though. And a recent health scare has definitely shown me what is important and where to put my priorities.
ReplyDeleteYou know we all love your work and you. You share so much of yourself and your family with people that you may never ever meet. I do appreciate that.
x
